Default ugh.. will the fun ever end?? :( somewhat vent

Well, as you guys know if you read my last post, I have been having urinary issues. Today I had to go give another urine sample so they could run a test called a fish test. I didn't think anything of it except I came home and looked it up on the net and it says it is to diagnose cancer... I dont know what happened to my healthy body I had 2 years ago... this is enough stress to make me snap... Wish i didn't have to go to work.. I just want to stay at home with my boyfriend and relax. I have too much on my mind to worry about other peoples issues with their credit cards or why they can't access their accounts. Has anyone else had this test? I am just scared beyond belief... Like the MS wasn't enough.. now all this..
Sorry for the rant, just really needed to get my fears out into words.

The FISH test is not just for diagnosing cancer. It's also a test for several other problems and diseases. (know that wont make you feel any better)

They're probably trying to rule out other problems, to make sure that it's something MS related and not anything else.

I hope this helps a bit - I know you're worried about cancer. My dad was dx'd with bladder cancer almost 20 years ago, and it was a quick dx...I am assuming (just assuming) that if it was bladder cancer with you, that you would already know, given the tests they've done already. Also, it's pretty rare in someone so young, so do remember you have the odds on your side, OK?

Oh - and if you smoke, please stop TODAY! After dad was dx'd, we learned that bladder cancer is second only to lung cancer for cancers caused by smoking (or it was at the time). Weird, huh?

When I was about your age I went through a period of back-to-back bladder/kidney infections as well...I was in grad school, and health services did not know what to think. Finally, I got better...this was before I was dx'd, but I do look back and wonder quite a bit now!

I hope you get results soon - waiting is the pits!

hi chaz,

i can relate to the stress.
try to keep busy with something to occupy your mind.
and, try calling your dr's office maybe on thurs to see when the results will be back.

good luck.
and if your vision keeps bothering you call your dr by the end of the wk.
feel better soon.
