For those of us who need a lift anywhere, and especially in the bathroom:
http://htmlaccessunlimited.com/html/...lti-lift-home. Forget getting Medicare/Medicaid to pay for this. They won't pay for any lift with a motor; that would be a "luxury" (their word). For those of us with bowel incontinence: http://www.solutioncomfortseat.com/s...eat-custom.htm And this is just so cool that I'm going to try my hardest to bludgeon Medicare/Medicaid into buying it for me : http://www.flexiciser.com/index.html Yes, it's a brave new world. Try this link and see if it works. The cool thing about this lift is that it's portable. It can be moved anywhere; you just have connecters installed wherever you need a lift. Or you can get a base for use outside. The lift you posted looks perfect for what you need! I'm calling about the Flexersiser today -- I'll let you know what I find out. Chris |

Wow, that multi lift looks cool too. It will lift you and your scooter into your minivan. I wonder if I could rig one to lift me from my kitchen into the garage...or from my back door onto my patio. That would solve my problem.
What's the cost of this contraption., Chris, I hope your insurance will pay for some of these things for you. Will medicare pay for that lift for you? You say they won't pay for motorized but would they pay for part of it and just not the extra for the motor? Waiting to hear from you.

Are you kidding? Medicare is worthless and useless, and Medicaid is only a little better. Medicare will buy you a power chair, full stop, end of story. Medicaid at least will provide home health aides for those with a chronic illness, which Medicare won't do. Medicare "home health care" is targeted for those with acute health issues, from which they are expected to at least partially recover. Those with an illness from which they will never recover are on their own, or have to go into nursing homes.
There's a dealer for the multi lift close to where I live, so I called them. They're coming to my place tomorrow. I should get a cost low-down then. I called Flexiciser in CA. It costs $3500, and is not yet covered by Medicare (what a surprise ) though they're working on it. If you want more info on it you can e-mail Andrea at andrea@flexiciser.com I told her that you were interested and might be in touch, so she'll know who you are. PM me if you want her phone#. BTW, this device is particularly recommended for MSers. Chris |

This guy is a salesman. Need I say more? I will anyway. He didn't show up on the day he said he would (Tuesday). Then he called me the next afternoon, right after I'd taken my afternoon meds which, unfortunately, irresistably knock me out. He says he'll call me the next day to reshedule. I haven't heard from him since. Sigh. I guess I'll call him Monday.
