Well I guess I will just explain myself here too then, if that is your preference . . .

As I told Sandy, when I offered my original comments on this thread, it was in response to you being upset over learning you had MS by way of a piece of paper. My first concern was that you were upset, and what could I say to support you (in my own little way, with about 2 minutes to spare at the time... ).

The doctor had already said that he thought you had MS, so it made sense to me that he would be writing that on the paper as the "purpose" for rxing steroids. I was hoping that saying out loud ~ that he needs to TELL YOU ~ might help you to feel a little at ease about what you had read. OR, maybe this might offer you support in confronting your doctor directly . . . whatever your preferred course of action would be at that point.

Your doc has been treating you with steroids every few months, without ever confirming that YOU HAVE MS, so I figured he should be upfront at this point. JMHO.

When you got the final confirmation, I responded to offer support about the dx. THANKFULLY, it is no longer a journey of shoving steroids at you every few months, then sending you on your way again; it is now a journey of PROACTIVE ATTACK on this disease. That part is great news for you . . . BUT of course getting confirmation of the dx would be also very upsetting for most people too.

I offered a and some "friendly" advice/support for this next part of your journey, NOT medical "advice". You seemed to take offense to that, and that was what started this public discussion with your comment "are you a doctor?".

I meant no ill will, and someone else in the same position might have been thankful (or at least not offended) for the exact words I posted. But please feel free to contact me privately ANY TIME you find something I've said as offensive to you.

Bygones, I hope.

Cherie
