So I was given the contact information for the head of MS studies by a very helpful man in California who is conducting the sea anenome peptide studies.

I am wondering how long it takes to actually get an appointment and if there was anything special you needed to do to get in. I am writing my letter to this guy now including my med history and current drugs, along with an explanation of why I am ready to find a new Dr.

Any pointers would be great.

Is it Dr. C, or Dr. K or Dr. J? All I 'm told aren't taking new patients but try, they may take you..

Dr. C. is the head of the MS Center (doesn't take new patients, but will give 2nd opinions) but Dr. K did some exciting work with Hy-Cy to reboot system, RedPenguin did it and posted process/journey. PM me if you like. Dr. C was my first neuro when he was at UMM and I regret not following him when I could of. Too late now. Had a good neuro. at JHs, but he moved to Texas, Will be trying a new one in May.

Dang it it was Dr. C he told me to contact! Just my luck. I figured it wouldn't hurt to try, I expect there is a waiting list. Plus they might be ble to refer me to someone down here who is a little more experienced than the idiot doc who refuses to listen.

Dr. C. is the guy who wants to do this eye scan to measure progression of MS.
He is very knowlegable about ON.I left UMM for JH. lst and 2nd neuros moved. Haven't et 3rd - appt. May.

They have MS specialist Neuros who get it better than regular neuros. I really, really liked Dr. C at UMM, next one (JH)not so much, but he was ok, really liked my next guy who moved. Seeing Dr. John S. next, he looks good on paper, co-authored several papers with Dr. C for publication in neuro journals, but Fredericksburg is so far from Baltimore!!!! Inner Harbor fun, Fell's point and good restaurants in Baltimore.

It's a trip I know. But one I am willing to take if they can stop some of the Sx I've been having. Plus one of my best friends lives about an hour from JH who I haven't seen in over a year. If I do get in that would be a good excuse to go visit.

I've seen two docs at Hopkins and really liked both. That said, imvho, if you are looking for someone to have any new answers with regard to this miserable disease I think you might be disappointed if you have been seeing a MS specialist already. Good luck with whatever you decide and the Balto/DC area is great to visit if you need a getaway also.

If you are just trying to find a better dr. and don't want to travel as far as JH, GW and Georgetown both have MS centers - probably an hour drive if you miss rush hour. GW would be my preference of the two - Gtown facility is kinda old and gross. I don't know what is available in Richmond, but NMSS could give you some recomendations.
