I had my first relapse the summer of 1992 that was misdiagnosed as Lyme disease. Didn't have numbness, tingling or any vision problems so, it didn't look like MS. None of the doctors I saw ever mentioned it as a possibility, nor did I ever suspect it then. Looking back though,I know now that it was. I was real weak, had extreme fatigue, dizziness, and some burning in the soles of my feet. I also got married that summer and moved away from home for the first time with my 17 year old brother in tow since my step-father kicked him out ( Think stress here lol). I felt horrible on my wedding day and honeymoon, but there was no way I was going to postpone everything and lose deposits on all the things I had worked so long and hard to plan! Stubborness I think is one of my best traits that has helped me through all this lol I wasn't well until I became pregnant with my son in January of 1993. I went into a remission until January of 1999. ( I didn't really know I was even in remission. I just felt totally well and normal again. Went back to work as a nurse working 2 jobs during much of the next 6 and a half years )
In January of 1999 at age 28 symptoms started coming back, same as before but now I had some numbness in the last 2 toes of each foot and bad lower back pain and some bladder symptoms. Nineteen doctors appts. later in September of 1999 I was diagnosed with MS after an MRI of my brain and a lumbar puncture. Whew! Sorry this was so long lol I guess I coulda just said 28. :) I'm 38 now and feel 88 lol |

lol soo true, i think thats reason we get along, because we both have the same sense of humor as a 5th grader!! i dont have ms, but am 18, so as in terms of being diagnosed, you could be the youngest but as far as youngest on this forum that is still all me  |
I am 57 and was "officially" diagnosed in 2003 after 30+ years of going from one Doc to another. Symptoms as far back as 5th grade.

Age 32, diagnosed just after my 31st birthday.
Can't say for sure when the symptoms began, because MS is not the only thing I deal with, and my MS is sensory sensations, so it's hard to distinguish. |
47 Here, DX at age 28.
Dont know if you had a chance yet, but if you ever can, you need to meet Dr. Peter Dunne. He is the M.S. Dr at USF in Tampa. Any how I finally got to meet him Monday, after 10 yrs, at the Veterans Hospital there. He is a great Doctor, just a bummer he's retiring. Hope your symptoms do back off soon, good luck. |
