Interesting. My "good" cholesterol has always been very high even though my "bad" needs to be lower.

I have slowly raised my good cholesterol(HDL) from 41 to 76. It took several years to accomplish this. For males this is a VERY difficult thing to do. Most women have high and even very high HDL levels.
The reg med folks are idiots. My cardiologist is a state of shock!!! The drug companies killed lots of folks trying to do this with some crazy drugs to increase HDL. They now have some stuff that can raise HDL a few points. My program may not work for everybody. It was all a big MISTAKE! I was NOT trying to raise it. It is just a nice side-effect of my program to reduce MMP-9 levels. I doubt that anyone here knows what I am talking about but I am willing to present it if you have the time and a BIG medical dictionary handy. jackD

Jack - in a short summary, how did you raise your HDL?

I'd like to know too.
We get good results here with Fish oil. It raises HDL, no effect on LDL, and lowers triglycerides too. Niacin can help some. (non flush type works for some people) But niacin can cause liver changes and raise blood sugar for some.
