Default Report on Hula Chair

I have now been using the chair for a full week. The first two days I used it for ten minutes each day at the lowest speed. Then I upped it to the fully recommended twenty minutes a day.

I have played around with the speed, but I honestly can’t see a use for anything but the slowest speeds. I can honestly say that I do feel that I have exercised areas of my back and stomach that haven’t been used in some time. Since my problems are related to balance, coordination, and core muscle weakness,

I feel that using the chair is loosening up and strengthening areas of my body that need it the most. The feeling is sort of like the motion you get when horseback riding. At the low speed I feel that the stretching and flexing of the muscles is subtle enough that don’t worry about hurting myself, but I really can feel it after I use the chair.

I am pleased with my purchase, and am including it in my daily routing.

Hey Marion. Thanks for the Hula update, as I was wondering how it was going. As long as you like it and feel like it's helping, you go girl.

Keep us posted and no bull riding anytime soon.

Make us a video of you using the chair, Marion!!

It sounds like a great way to exercise. Does it go slow enough so you can eat ice cream while using it??

A long time ago when EMS (electrical muscle stimulation) first came out, it was athletes only stuff used in sports medicine. Then physical therapy departments started catching on to it's benefits and began using it with people with various injuries. Then exercise places started offering it for actual exercise.

There was a lot of consternation about whether it was "the easy way out for fat people to exercise without working out" and the exercise places stopped using it due to cost and the need for people to be certified in it's usage in those places. My grandmother was disabled and needed a chair to get around.

EMS, balance training and the variations her PT came up with, including what they both called "The Tipsy Chair" that the PT designed gave her an enhanced quality of life and movement that she didn't have before. Anyone who thinks these things don't work should have seen my Nannie!

As long as it gets you moving and is properly used, you get a benefit.

I'm glad you are seeing benefit from this, Marion! Keep up your hard work and keep us updated on your progress!
