Sounds like you may have hit a bone and maybe it's bruised. Just guessing, but you should probably call the Doc or Call the Biogen nurse. This may have happened to someone else.

This happened to me twice over the two years I was on Avonex. The office suggested warm compresses three to four times a day. It really helped to the point where the discomfort had resolved after a couple of days.
