Tomorrow the nurse is supposed to come over to teach me
how to give myself the Rebif shot.

I am now starting to think twice about taking it. I have been
feeling better or think I am.

I am really so messed up with what to do. Everything has been
delivered to the house. One minute I feel I need some more time to decide
what to do the next I am going for it.

My family wishes that I wait for one month and see how I feel after
that. Then I start thinking the ms my not agree with me and then it
might. So mixed up

Wish there was some way that we could predict the future

(that really is a joke and confused mind)

When tomorrow comes I know I am going to have to make some kind
of decision.

Go ahead and try it, Jappy. It's not as though you can't stop it at any time, if it gets too uncomfortable or it's just not helping you.

Jappy, honey, you know perfectly well that how you feel today or tomorrow has nothing to do with the outcome of a long-term MS treatment plan.

If it can make you feel carpy less often, and possibly stave off disability, why not try it?

Like Sal said, it's not a life sentence, if you can't handle it, just quit it!

There can be a lot of anxiety about taking a shot. I know because I felt that way. The first doses are VERY mild. All you have to do is take it, then get to bed and watch tv or read a book. After the allotted time, go to sleep.

The fear of the unknown is so much worse than the medication.

aww sweetie! its scary to think about poking yourself with a needle. Esp stuff that may make you feel not well, while you adjust to it.

The thing about MS disease modifying drugs is that we dont take them for how we feel today. We take them to help protect us so we can keep feeling good tomorrow. They are designed to help reduce the amount of relapses we have, and if we do have relapses to help make them less severe, do less damage, and hopefully skip us by some major damage that leaves us dragging a leg, or having trouble swallowing. So, please dont think of taking this drug for your "today" sx. Please consider taking this drug to "prevent" tomorrows sx.

You know she's right. You have to try, you'd want someone you love to look beyond tomorrow for the chance of a better future. Scary yes, but you can do it!!!

This is normal Jappy. Go ahead and give it a whirl. If you don't like it you can stop. Give it some time before stopping though because many symptoms decrease the longer you take it.

Aren't you in Kentucky? We are in Shelbyville visiting friends and the humidity and heat are brutal on Jim. Stay in the cool air when you start just to familiarize yourself with the side effects. You don't want to confuse the heat symptoms with the med symptoms.

Like you say I won't know if I don't try. I have to realize the future is
what is important. I feel better today but what is tomorrow going to be.

Reading your advice has helped in making a decision. I am going to try
it. I was already for today and get a call the nurse cannot make it
until tomorrow

Well I am not going to change my mind. I really think it is the thought
of the needle. I will only have to do it 3 times a week. That's enough.

The Rebif has an injector so it might be easier then me having to push
the needle in. (I hope) I am not afraid when someone else gives me a
shot it's the thought of doing it myself.
