Fortunately I have always been mostly a loner and enjoyed my family, work and sewing. I had friends, but still could entertain myself, which comes in handy now that I am somewhat confined.

I learned at a young age to entertain myself because I was an only child. I learned to read and found the joy of books. I am blessed to have the vision to be able to still read; so as long as I have a book to read, I'm set.

I, like many of the previous posters, don't bother to go outside many days to even get the mail. I do enjoy it when I get to go somewhere on my own. Which means, getting dropped off at a mall, with my scooter or when I am dropped off at the library while my husband takes the dog for a walk. I do not drive these days and do not live in an area with public transportation.

I'd like to get out more, but I feel guilty. There is so much to do here. I should get the dishes washed/put away. There's laundry. The bird cages need to be cleaned. I should dust, sweep.

This is a big house, lots of chores. And not to mention the yard. Even before this move came up, I was always behind and it was a struggle keeping it liveable.


If I waste energy going out, I need to rest later. And all this stuff is going to pile up even more.

I'm beat and I haven't even started today. It's noon and I'm not dressed or showered yet.
