Congratulations, Erin, you well deserved these improvements!
I surely would'nt blow your happyness but I hope you've been given clear indications on how to avoid infections as these ports and permanent shunts are open doors to our internal system and infections could be severe…
Maurice.

That's good news, Erin. I hope it really helps.

Please be careful with the shunt. In particular, if they have to change it out. I'm not saying this to scare you, okay? When my Dad had his replaced, he died three days later of what we believe was a clot that broke off during the changing of it (cardiac arrest). He had one for dialysis. So make sure they are very careful about heparin and all that and infection precautions. It sounds like your docs are good at all that though.

Annie

Thumbs up Thank you ~ all of you!

THank you so much for the support! It is the reason I love this site so much!

I just love my go-go juice! Amazing stuff! I met this really sweet lady who has been suffering with MG for 27 years! 27 years! Can you imagine? She had the port in her neck and (me being me) I asked her about it and we had the best conversation about MG. She was STILL upbeat after everything.........she also tried my neuro but did not like him. I was surprised to say the least. I LOVE the fact that dr I doesn;t sugar coat anything and is very cautious, but u did not work for her..........

As for the sites - I will be very cautious with them. I'd love to take a shower right now, but am waiting till 2morrow - just in case......

I hope this finds all of you stronger and happy!

Love,
Erin
