I've been suffering from worse than usual neck and back pain, I've always had a few problems with this. Since my mg came along its gotten alot worse. I recently asked my physio if it could be cos I was having probs holding my head up, she suggested a afternoon lie down. Wow it does help with the back/neck pain, I just have to now talk myself into the fact that it is legitimate having an afternoon rest!!!!. Also I have to work out what the other wierd pain is that no one can work out, except maybe its "all in my head" oops no its in every other part of my body!!!

Thanks to everyone for your responses...The pain is very much like the super uncomfortable aching pain....roll around from side to side trying to stretch them (legs)...it's not so bad at first and I already take so many meds so I try to tell myself just to get to sleep...but after laying for a while it seems to get worse (maybe I notice it more)....Tylenol does sem to work. I remember having this pain before my surgery and the Prednisone, just not everynight....maybe I'm doing more during the day now??? I saw my GP today and he blew it off as part of my "infection"...ear and uti....he's a quack and I'm changing GP's this week...I've been seeing the man 4 7 years and had 3 children and he asked me if my baby was our first...haha I was astonished at his lack of knowledge about me...Isn't the GP supposed to be our whole body Dr??? Thank god I have a wonderful Nuero....Peace and strength be with all of you.
Much Love, Jess |

Jess,
I'd dump that GP too. Hopefully your next one will at least be able to keep his foot out of his mouth!! I get leg pain too - but not every night. It usually wakes me up and is a aching (sometimes stabbing)moderate to severe pain. Have had MRI's and evaluations - found nothing. Like you, this only ever happens at night after I have been in bed for (usually) hours. One doc had a theory that it was lymph that wasn't properly flushing to the lymph nodes - - or that lymph nodes were clogging. Anyway, I was shown how to do manual lymph drainage (MLD) - - and believe it or not, it works!! Everytime!! In 10 minutes or so, I can resolve the pain and sleep the rest of the night! You can look up MLD on internet to learn how to do it. It is a very, very light movement across the skin - firm or deep massage is contraindicated for lymph drainage. Perhaps this would help you - hope so anyway. Sue |

Sue,
This is a great idea not only for pain but possibly to help our immune systems and various other things. I am adding this to my list of small things to do to help my MG symptoms. Thanks. Quote:
