Talking More on move & legal aid

Good news. MY new Legal Aid attorney called today. She is GREAT! So nice and understanding. She said legally my landlord didnt notify me correctly to move out by May 1. It takes 2 forms. He only sent a certifed letter. Also she said he cant charge me for unresonable items when move out. I had said with them this is a concern. I said I knew for a fact they did this too a little old lady who was ill when she moved out charging her for carpet cleaning which my attorney said is not allowed as it would be beyond normal and resonable. Yippee. She also said it HAS to be done in 30 days in that the land lord has to mnake a full accounting of any deductions and mail me the deposit. I said my last landlord took 3 months and took my whole deposite and charged me more causing me to take several months to pay of pluss interest cause I had to do over time.

It is nice to get someone who is this savy and knowlegeable on you side at a time like this. Of course now I have 2. Her and my daughter. I cant imagine doing this without them. The attorny gave me some possible resources to help with my deposite too. The Salvation Army is one and a place called Helping Hands and local churches. This sure is a good time to know anyone who is good at resources.

I forgot to note that one of the things she suggested was to have my daughter ask first for another 30 days to move given it takes more to find a place that my health needs can work for. My daughter had called them on their expectations on charges after moving as they sent me this long long detailed list. She said she they seemed to be agreeable once they heard I was moving as they wanted. The layer said since this went well for her to call and ask for the 30 days first rather than her as they will ratchet up the anger in some cases. If that doenst work she will do to work on it. She dont tell them they didnt notify me appropriately or they may try to do so tho now that it is April 2 they have missed the 30 day window.

This should be good news for my duaghter as she is concerned after diving into apartment hunting for me and seeing the difficulty in findding a place. She wants me to considered dropping some of the considerations as she doesnt get the magnitude of the difficulty. I will have educate her. There is a care facility I could move into temporarily if something isnt found in time. My Sjogrens is the most complicating issue. I need first floor for best results. I told Jen maybe 2nd but not sure. I said if radiant heat not forced air is also the very best. The degree of dryness I have from Sjogrens is pretty bad and the dryness that is added on top by this new health crisis has it far worse.

Right now I have these cloudly glops in my eyes from the severe dry tho I am on my 3rd 16 oz water bottle for the day and drank 6 yesterday cause AC on. Forcoed air of the summer kind drying the air. I havent lived with forced air since 2005. The pain in my eyes if away from my apartment with my no forced air(winter) and 2-3 humidifers (in eyes and nose and sinus') get worse the longer I'm away. I can take a visit if I am well hydrated but no longer. My grandkids wish I could stay the nite but that can be near impossible. And my humidifiers come.

What a deal. I wish I could talk better so I could make some of the calls on apartments.

Now that is good news! It is so great to hear you getting help. Keep letting them all know your needs. I hope you do not go into a second floor! I was in a split level and eneded up confined there as the stairs took such a toll. It will all work out! You hang in there and keep asking for what you need.
This is actually a better time of year to find one.

AS far as a good time yes there are move in deals this time of year with spring coming. Maybe it is the older Iowa population but there are more with elevators than used to be. The really really sad thing is that several new buildings were built cause of the flood that hit our town badly in Summer 09 (08?). Spring on the Mississippi ya know. So my daughter showed me these brand new buildings down town that have built where houses were so ruined and torn down. The sad part is that these buldings are in the 100 year flood plain AND in or right on the edge of "the triangle" that the HUD agency has to say we dont have to live in as it is such a high polution and poveryt area. I had one of my doc ask me where I lived once and said I was living in on of the new buildings at that time years ago. He said no wonder you have breathing problems you live in that part of town. My daughter was so excited to show me these honestly beautiful place that are built there for the politic not that it is a good idea AT all for children or elderly or disabled.

wow just found an artical with comments from the local paper and boy did I hit the nail on the head about the apartments being aobut politics.
http://thegazette.com/2009/08/28/oak...ousing-effort/
Note mainly the comments below the article one saying so what (if it is near Mt Trashmore the city dump etc) to low income poor living there as they dont have a choice and dont care they just need homes. WOW!!! When I did try to live in this area you cant ever be out side but rarely cause it smell so so bad from the trash mountain, Quaker Oats and Cargil who is a sugar processor across the river there. It is a nasty place to be. And get this as part of that areas 'revitalization' they want to build an open air theater near by!! Where your gas masks!!

Some big good news. The place I mentioned that was $7 too high on price has come back and said corporate has OK'ed lowering rent for me to fit. Wow I didnt see this coming!! Now I just pray all else is OK as I havent seen them but daughter likes. It has to be first floor, tho they have an elevator, for my Sjogrens and then it is still an unknown for me I am assuming I can juggle to work out with multiple humidifers. I have memories or how painful it can be when I am in forced and daughter or few people other then those with severe Sjogrens gets it. It is really had to explain and understand so no offense to others I get that it is hard.

So glad they came down on the price for the nicer apartment! I hope it works out for you. You deserve a break after all that you've been through.

Gosh, even with that good news I find myself tearful again today. But I am so worn and I think kinda scared from my worse breathing that I cant really cry out loud, in full. I have been trying to make some calls this morn after the day of silence yesterday and already my chest muscles are saying stop. I went down the half flight of stairs to get mail rather than wait for my aid that comes at 1pm and now it is worse.

As of Sunday I noticed new symptoms that I am sure are to do with the digestive issue. While fluids not going right thru me as they have now my ankles are very swollen and last nite I found this included my legs to from kneees down. If it werent so hard to pull off pants and ck full legs it may be more. I noticed I was feeling like more fluids were in my body Sunday after the IV fluids. I literally didnt have to push water for several hours! I noticed first at the hosp I didnt pee like I ususally do. Not peeing near as much is still true. Also in 24 hours my mestinon tolerance changed it seemed. I went from higher levels to bad diareah yesterday from minimal. Tho minimal doses were part of what had changed with the beginnning of the digestive problem. I never had it shift that fast.

I am at a loss. I dont know what doctor to ask to get me over to the gastro doc asap. My daughter is so busy this week and works so hard even hardern now with the move thing. NOw she has to go see my housing worker as she refused to recalculate my housign voucher tho she nows full well I never was able to get all the uncovered medical stuff verifed for this past 12 months. MY last worker was far more understanding of my disability.

Thanks everyone for listening.

Wow, that is great Annie! I hope you get settled in there and get set up how you need.
I have to avoid stairs. They take me out too. I am on the ground floor and see a huge difference.
It will all work out. Did you have a change of circumstance put in at Housing? They have to recalculate it then. There is a form, tho you may already know that. I keep extra ones in my files.
I hope your move is as easy as possible and you get settled. Hang in there.
