Default wierd question - my babies fontanelle relation to my issue?

Ok, so this is a very strange question, but I can't seem to turn off my brain trying to figure all of this out, as I sit here in the hospital after recieving my 3rd of the IVIG loading dose, and feeling the side effects- ick!
I am still in diagnostic limbo, with MG being high on the list. I have read that babies born to MG mothers can have myasthenic syndromes, but is there any relation with what's going on with me with my son (born 9 months ago at the begining of all of this ), he is meeting all of his milestones etc.. but he does have quite a large anterior fontanelle.. when he was born it even when down into his forehead... (all my babies have big heads as do me and my hubby ) his does not seem abnormally large, nor does he have any symptoms of hydrocephalus, or a bludging fontanelle..
but anyhow..
thought i'd just see if any of yall had heard of a relationship between my issues and an enlarged fontanelle? probably not related at all, but it's worth a try- what if that was our missing puzzle piece!

It's not about MG, it's about vitamin deficiencies. Deficiencies of B12 and folic acid are absolutely related to fontanelle issues. Vitamin D deficiency too.

Sorry, I don't have time right now to put up references.

wow really?? thank you! That is really interesting.. I feel bad if I caused any abnormalities in my little guy from being deficient in something. I guess if I was celiac and didn't know it then, i may have had underlying issues without knowing it... thank you ! I appreciate it!

Interesting....my first son had a HUGE anterior fontanelle. Of course he's now 16 years old. It did eventually close but took over a year. I was diagnosed with mg about 19 months ago. I don't think there was a connection with mg but now I wonder about vit D deficiency since that was identified with the first neuro I saw with the mg symptoms.

Annie - I just found this - you actually said that B12 and Folate deficiencies can cause fontanelle issues - do you have more info on this?? I didn't even know I had these deficiencies at the time! I am wondering if this huge mysterious puzzle are really having all the pieces come together!

I wish I had felt better back then. I would've been more insistent on you getting tested!!

Dehydration, vitamin deficiencies, and other issues can cause fontanelles. A quick search will land you on a bunch of sites! Or do a search in PubMed.

I think the important thing now is that you know what's going on, can fix it, and can keep it happening to any other family members!
