Default eyes focusing funny

Does anyone else have this problem- When I focus on something up close for a bit, then look away it's like my focusing muscles of my eyes get "stuck" or take a while to get back to "normal".. my vision is extra weird for a while afterwards..

I have some similar issues. My eyes started to regain focus a couple of weeks ago, but I still get some blurriness and shakiness periodically. I've found if I look at something close up and look away, I have to take a minute to refocus my eyes. It doesn't seem to typically last all that long though, unless my eyes are starting to get overly tired.

Before getting diagnosed i had lasik mono vision surgery (1st in 7/2011, then redone in 3/2012) WHAT A HUGE MISTAKE. My eyes are horrible vision is overall blurry and delay to focus. When i would take eye exam, dr would say blink, focus and i would try to explain that wasnt truely representative of eyesight but they just kept saying was dry eyes????

Anyway, still lots of problems, one of the first signs of weakness for me plus now i have some strange things like when i wake up sometimes i see like snowy tv screen for few seconds, very weird.

Default eyes

Yep, me too. With 3-1/2 years of generalized MG, my ocular stuff didn't show up until about 6 months ago. It's not double vision, it's not blurriness, and it's not ptosis. The closest I can come to explaining it is that my eyes are looking at one thing, when I look toward something else, one or both have trouble catching up so it feels out of focus for a moment. Like they're tracking slower than they should. My neuro and opthalmalogist both believe me but can't find anything to act on. My vision is basically 20/20.

Hi There!
Yes, I have the same problem. I often misread things because of it.
I have had MG for five years but, this has been happening just over the past year.

You're not alone...if that helps.

Vision gets ´stuck´.......also eyes go in and out of focus sometimes within seconds whilst watching TV (you can even read something into a relationship on screen that is not even there with all the soft focusing I do but that was never intended by the film maker )

Oh by the way - with me I don´t worry so much about the close up problems but I do with distance vision.

wow, glad to hear that I'm not alone, but never glad other people have to have my symptoms! :0

Does anyone else's muslces almost feel like they are vibrating with weakness- does that even make any sense?? When my symptoms flare, i cant' raise my arms (due to shoulder weakness) and they almost feel like they are shaking with weakness..

Stephc- wow, can't imagine getting lasik twice!!! My vision is so strange, sometimes wearing glasses makes it seem more double (it's like the double is more clear, which is nauseating)!

I've definitely experienced the shaking/vibrating, but very occasionally, thankfully. The last time it happened I was trying to lift about 4 pieces of Pyrex into a cabinet and almost dropped them all over the floor :X

Glad you got a lot of good responses, bny (like in my case it sometimes appeared that I was over sensationalizing my symptoms) but it really means the world to us to have any kind of validation at all sometimes. Have a great day
