Default How do you cope during the holiday season?

We abstained from most social occasions for quite a few years. But I do remember we did have a lot of guests for a Christmas dinner 2 years ago where I insisted that my job would be setting the table two days in advance very slowly in order to save enough strength to be able to cut my own food at the actual dinner!

Are there certain things you do or don´t do to manage during the holiday season?
Are family members more helpful at this time?
