Hi! I'm just wondering... My neurologist seems to think I have MG and so is running me through the tests to verify it..blood tests, I got the brain & spine MRIs which were normal, etc.
What is concerning me is that my rheumy just put me on Prednisone again and added Cellcept. I've been on it only two days. But I was thinking, my Neurologist ordered a MuSK test that I've not had done yet. Will the Prednisone and Cellcept interfere with getting a true reading on my MuSK test? I put in a call to the drs, but haven't heard back yet, and thought maybe you guys would know. Thanks so much ![]() |

It didn't affect mine and I'd been on both drugs, plus IVIG for three years or more.
Hope you find some answers. |

Any drug that suppresses the immune system can, in theory, make the antibody and SF/EMG tests look negative. Why? Because that's what they are supposed to do!
![]() It can still be positive but from what I've heard from MG experts, if your MG is "new" or more mild, it can be negative but an antibody level does not necessarily predict how the clinical presentation of MG will be. There is no way to predict if it will affect your tests or not. Annie |
