Default Prednisone , Cell-Cept

Diagnosed with MG in Sept 2009 . Since then I 've used 60 Mg of Mestinon , 4 times a day ...and felt normal for the most part .In Nov 2012 , however I went downhill rapidly . ..couldn't walk to mailbox or raise my arms to get a plate from kitchen cabinet .In Dec ..my neuro put me on 40 Mg of Prednisone , and 500 Mg of Cell-Cept .One month later he bumped Prednisone up to 60 Mg . Did IVIG in Jan , but no noticable improvement .
I started seeing improvement when I went to 60 Mg of Prednisone , but got all the side effects ....moon face , increase of 12 lbs , leg and hand cramps at night . But being able to walk was more important ...Since then I've reduced Prednisone to 30 Mg ( at neuro's direction ) and hope to get to 20 Mg by April .
I noticed several weeks ago that taking my usual dose of Mestinon ( 60Mg 4 /day ) seemed to have no effect on me . After talking to neuro , I've stopped taking any Mestinon for past 5 days and actually feel at little less fatigued .. Has anyone else experienced this .... ? Does the Prednisone or Cell-Cept reduce efects of Mestinon ... By the way , really can't tell any effects yet from Cell-Cept , and I'm aware that it can take up to 9-10 months ..lHow will I know if Cell-Cept is working ...and not the Prednisone ..?

I have the same situation. I think my Cellcept has kicked in but during the reduction of Prednisone I started getting weaker. When I went below 20mg I started getting weaker. I'm at 15 now but starting a session of 16 IVIG treatments. I feel the same as you about the Mestinon, it does nothing. I stopped the 180 time release at night on my own and can't tell any difference. I had my first IVIG dose on tuesday and I feel a little better. That's a first for me. I usually don't get a bump. I have 4 positive antibodies. We did try Imuran for 12 months and it made me sick as a dog. I lost 35 pounds.
