I started having some rather severe pain in my lower left quadrant about a month ago; it felt like a large hard lump had formed - I thought it was a pulled muscle, so I put off going to see my doctor for a couple of weeks, thinking it would subside on its own (I have had NO other symptoms which would suggest it was anything to be concerned about).
No such luck ![]() Since I needed a Gynecological procedure anyway, I made an appointment last week to see if something was happening in that "department". My GYN sent me for a diagnostic ultrasound; thankfully, everything came back negative. Yesterday, I went to see my Primary Care doctor, who said, "Oh my goodness!" when she felt the lump ![]() She is sending me for a CT scan with & without contrast tomorrow (she is aware of the iodine interaction, and put me on a prophylactic megadose of Prednisone, which has worked for me before). She seems to think that one of the things we may be looking at is a deep hernia. (FWIW, I've had 4 C-sections, so it's possible there is a weakness in one or more of the muscle walls after all these years) Has anyone else had hernias since their MG diagnosis? Are they more common in people with MG, or are the two unrelated? Thanks in advance for anything you can tell me! ![]() |
