Two weeks ago my neurologist ordered one day of IVIG at the O'Connor Infusion Center for September 2nd.
I called the Infusion Center today to confirm and found out that O'Connor does not have my infusion order. I called my doctor and they said it was faxed 10 days go to O'Connor. O'Connor said they do not have it. It takes 7 days for O'Connor to get the immune globulin, so with the holiday, this will delay my infusion by one week. Had I not called to confirm, the delay would have been 5 days long, almost two weeks. I did not know it takes O'Connor a week to get one bottle of immune globulin, otherwise I would have confirmed earlier. I won't make this mistake again. UPDATE: While I was entering the above, I got a call from the O'Connor Infusion Center. They found a bottle of immune globulin for me, but the earliest appointment I can get is next Thursday. In addition, the said that I need to infuse for two days, not one, due to the amount of immune globulin. I originally scheduled the infusion on one of my days off from work. Now I may lose two days work. ![]() Go forth and create a stress free environment . . . ![]() -Mark- Last edited by Panorama; 08-29-2014 at 09:25 PM. |
