I would like to ask if somebody has stomach aches with all the medicines and what is the best way to heal this. I always take the medicines with milk or food and I`m taking omeprazol since I started to have pain one month ago (The pain stopped with omeprazol, but some days ago it started again).
I would like to know too if somebody had the experience of having the fingers twiching. Is this related to mestinon? Thanks in advance. Last edited by bluestone; 06-04-2007 at 05:18 PM. Reason: to include complement to the question |

What medications are you taking besides Mestinon? I always take my Mestinon with food, if I don't I sometimes get overdose symptoms. With me, these take the form of twitching muscles, especially around the eyes, and stomach cramps and diarrhea. I always keep a prescription of Donnatal on hand in case the overdose symptoms are really bad. I rarely take it, but I like to have it. Actually, at the moment what I've got is the generic, which says it is Bella ALK/PB. It is actually Belladonna, or atropine, and it is basically the antidote of Mestinon, and is used to control side effects of Mestinon.
Hugs,

I've been on Mestinon since 1986 and can tell you that it's a hard drug on the system, even if taken with milk or crackers. (Hopefully you won't ever have to take CellCept!). It's something you'll have to get used to and perhaps adjust some of your eating habits (I had to say goodbye to spicey food...). And as Lois said, twitching can be a symptom of overdosing on Mestinon -- that happens to me, too.

Hi, The Canadian
I changed my toothpaste because of sores and discovered too that I have to say goodbye to spicey food... The twitching is really something that bothers me mainly because it happens in my hands. As you said, it's because of Mestinon. Did you find something that helps you to deal with this? |
