Unhappy Not weak - just really tired...........

Hello all! Just wondering why I am so tired recently.......do any of you think it may be a side effect of the Imuran?

I have slept for 3 days - off and on - which I haven't done since I was pregnant (17 yrs ago).........

I am not weak at all - just really, really TIRED!

Do any of you experience this as well?

I have a lot of dr's appt's next week, as well as the IV IG set up for Monday after next, and am hoping that it will help me feel like my "old self".......we'll see........there is also a bug going around SA right now - everywhere I go, there are sick people, but I am starting to get nervous...........

Anyway, do any of you feel this way? Again, I am not weak, just really tired.........

Any feedback would be appreciated!

Thanks!
Erin

Cool

Let's see:

1. You have an uncontrolled autoimmune disease.

2. You are on medications which can have severe effects on the body.

3. You have a history of anemia.

4. You have a history of depression and you are taking meds.

5. You recently had PEX, which can cause all sorts of imbalances in electrolytes, etc.

6. You had IV antibiotics which likely upset the balance of "good flora" in your system.

7. You have repeated high dose IVIG, which can wreak havoc on the kidneys if done too often. *The ol' "too much of a good thing" theory.

8. You maintain a busy social/travel schedule.

Still wondering why you may be tired?

I'm there Erin.

For the past week I've been asleep almost more than I've been awake. I had two naps today after having a full nights sleep last night. Exhausted. I'm going to need to see my GP if it doesn't get better soon.

Hi Erin,
I'm sure in Texas people probably don't often suffer from Seasonal Affective Disorder, but I really think the time of year has a huge affect on our bodies as well. I'm not sure if it's to do with sunlight hours, or intensity, or just the come down after the holidays but everyone I know seems to be tired out. Obviously you are feeling this more than most at the moment, but i have to agree with Missy on this one - I think it's probably just your body telling you to unwind a bit. This morning I got up, made breakfast for my husband, and then went straight back to bed - I could barely keep my eyes open. I've come to realise that I push myself to get through the week and then crash every weekend. Still - I'll take a day in my pjs anytime. I'm thinking about hibernation..... any scientific evidence on the effects of that and MG?

I hope you feel better soon! Take care,
~Kathy

Default Hello Kathy!

Yep, I think Missy is right, too! If anyone from the group who was a little more sensitive had sent that it would have hurt my feelings, but Missy always calls them as she sees them.........lol!

It has been crazy recently, and I need to get over it! MG just sux! I cannot wait for the roids to kick in and give me super energy again, but will be happy as long as I'm not weak/sick..........

Hubby was so sweet this morning - made me breakfast in bed - what a guy!!!

Hope you are feeling great!

ERin

Default Whooping cough

Missy -

I have whooping cough. I do not say I'm tired unless I am really tired. I do not say I am sick unless I am really sick.

I damn near died b/c I was too stubborn to go to the dr, as I had a full blown crisis...........

*-*

So sorry you're sick. When one says "tired" I take it as worn out feeling, sleepy, just moving slowly. THAT happens---happens to me all the time due to my chronic insomnia and drug side effects. I just "go with it" and rest.

Of course I wouldn't ignore actual symptoms of an illness, and if I'm not mistaken, pertussis has some pretty unmistakable symptoms. Before you got the diagnosis, even YOU thought that my earlier commentary was probably correct after all...you were worn out. After all, even you said you didn't think you were SICK--only "really really tired." I have plenty of empathy for your struggles as I do anyone who has been diagnosed with this or any other of the other diseases which cause suffering--including pertussis.

I wish you well. Hope you get the needed attention for your illness and are feeling better soon.

Missy
