Tongue I had my 1st round of IVIg today

It went well, I had no major reactions, slight < BP but all in all good, not sure how long it take to notice any positive effects, but im certainly excited about it. Hopefully I will notice a big difference, cause I just want to get back to my energetic self, maybe if IVIg goes well my neuro may consider a thymectomy, anways I hope everyone has a good day!!

Talk soon

Hi mm80!
It's a good thing that you're OK after your first round of IVIg, they usually take a few days before acting…when they do…it's another trick from MG, for some people (like me…), they didn't work, nor did plasma exchanges…
I wish you the best,
Maurice.

Your BP may have gone down because you need to stay hydrated.

I've never had IVIG and basically can't. I do know that you shouldn't go too overboard if IVIG kicks in and makes you feel like super woman. You can still get worse, even with IVIG. So take it easy, okay?

I didn't get to answer your questions in another post. The Tylenol is for the headache many people get with IVIG. Most people continue to take it for a couple days. The Benadryl is "in case" you have an allergic reaction to the IVIG.

Smile Hi mm80!

THank goodness! I am so happy for you!

I noticed my first treatment immediately, but then again I was in the ICU @ the time, so anything was a huge improvement!!!!!!

How many treatments are you getting? How much did they give you?

Can't wait to hear from you!
Big hugs!
Erin

So glad everything went well.

I agree with Annie, if you do feel great, don't overdo it, cos you will pay the price. I enjoy the feeling of having more energy/strength, and not having to think too much about the concequences of the simple things in life, like housework, its nice to be able to do a couple of things in one day, rather than stretch them over a few days(is that weird or what, enjoying doing housework?!?!)
