Ooo Clothing & shoes

Has anyone elses style of clothing changed ? I have found that light loose fitting clothing helps with my energy level. There is less resistance & wieght, plus, helps with the heat factor. Shoes are like cement blocks strapped to my feet, at home I wear sox around, I wear merrills slip on shoes to go to stores, or outside, they are light. Resistance with the clothing seems to be the culprit !
Plus it is hard to find higher neck styles to cover up the thymectomy scar, for going out, most of the shirts are scoop or v neck !
Any brand suggestions, or stores, that any of you use, I'd love to check them out !

My scar is my badge of honor..LOL, I don't hide it because to me it shows I am a survivor I have to admit, I still wear my high heeled shoes and well the better my clothing fits the better, except in the summer, if I could walk around in birthday suit I would, but instead I wear summer dresses and sandels, but when at home I wear no shoes at all.

Smile Shoes

Maryec;
Ilive in Florida too and wear Croc's all the time because they are so light and there is a color to match everything. I was told by an orthopedist that they were highly recommended. My right leg drags worse than the left and this helps.

Thank you for your help, I will have to try a pair of those croc's out, since they are recommended, the lighter the better. I have so much trouble just standing on my legs, right now. Never mind looking decent, thats another story !! LOL.....

Hey Mary,

I just wear low soft socks or go bare foot around the house. I like to shop on line at Lands End. I'm only 5ft. and they have a great petite selection. I wear a lot of their v neck tee shirts, because it only shows about an inch of the scar so it's not one of those low v's...I don't like them. They have a new line of clothes this year that are super light weight and is the material that draws perspiration away from the body and dries fast. It's called Sun...something. I ordered a pair of their roll up pants that button on the side at different lengths, but they were too long for me, even in a pet. They have shorts & shirts too. I always wait for a sale plus free shipping to order things. And if you don't want to keep it, you can ship it back by ups coming to your house to pick it up or have someone return it for you at Sears. Might be worth checking out the wesite.

Happy shopping!
Pat

Hey, smiles...we should get together, my left leg drags more than my right. It tires more easily.
Might make us more balanced..

Default Clothes, and Botox

Erin, becareful with the Botox, it's not good for people with MG. Actually it's on the list for people who should not get Botox injections. Bummer I know.
Prednisone causes me to sweat to the point it looks like my hair has been just washed. It's so gross!! And I get so embarrassed from it happening.
Yes, my clothes have changed. Especially my shoes. I find if I don't have comfy shoes, my feet seem to hurt easily, and the pain can get really intense.
L.L. Bean shoes work well for me. I also get the Massy catalog. But winter shoes/boots, hands down L.L. Beans storm chasers are very light weighted, and comfy. I have both the slip ons, and the shoe/ankle kind. I've walked on ice, and these things seem to really grip well. Nothing is full proof on ice, but I was surprised at how well these work.

I sometimes, also buy extra cushiony inserts to put into some summer shoes.
I too can't wear tight fitting clothes. high heels are out for me. weak legs. I miss them. i was the heel queen at one time. But let me tell you, Nothing, and I mean Nothing feminine about what I'd look like now wearing them..
One wobbling mess. lolol Oh, what happened to me..???
One good thing that happened since becoming so sick, my under arm hair stopped growing, and my legs don't have too much either. Always looking on the bright side!! (I was told it was how prednisone was working in me)
Love ya's
Lizzie

Hi Lizzie,

Last year out of the blue, my left eye started twitching non stop for weeks. Much like it does sometimes when I take Mestinon. When I saw my neuro ophthalmologist, she said she could stop it by injecting botox...a needle in my eye, no thank you!!! It eventully stopped on it's own, but now I'm really glad I didn't get it. Thanks for the info! Also, I am going to check out the LL Bean boots. Winters get pretty bad here and I'm not exactly light on my feet anymore either...thanks! Hope you're having a good day.

Smile Hi mary!

Hi Mary! I've noticed that long, light gaucho pants are great - also great are the lounge pants from Old Navy - they are really light and comfy. As for tops, I always wear tank tops - my scar doesnt really bother me @ all - I consider it my badge of honor and flip flops all the time!

It may sound super casual, but I can dress it up for the office and look totally appropriate all the time - now when I get home the clothes come off! LOL!

I've also noticed that empire waistlines are great looking and very slimming! An added bonus!

Hope this helps!
Erin
