Thumbs up Neuro appointment

Neuro came in asked how my IV treatment went, I told him I didn't have it, know one called, so he looked in my chart, the script he wrote was still there, he appoligised to me, went out & let them have it.
Then he came back in & we set up a plan, he is upset I have to wait for my rheumy app. till the 16th, he suggested another, then said he is going to hold off on the IV anyways till I get Blood work back from Rheumy, & he will then set up a muscle biopsy to be done,by a surgeon, then I will get the IV Methelpredisone Treatment. He said he is glad in a way I didn't have the treatment, because it would have altered my blood & biopsy results, so he wants to leave me flared up. The biopsy will show if my neuropathy & myopathy is connective tissue or a true muscle disease. I think I may be on the way to getting my overlap finally diagnosed, as the damage is really showing up now. in a lot of my testing.

You have a plan now, that is encouraging. I hope that you can manage through your flare -up without the treatment. Take care ~ Melanie

Hi Mary,

I am so glad to hear you may finally be getting the overlap diagnosed, but I am so sorry you have to feel so bad in the meantime. How are you feeling today? I'm glad he let them have it for messing up your treatment, but as you said, it's just as well now...still no excuse though. I know you don't see the Rheumy till the 16th, but have you had or has he ordered the blood work? It looks promising that you will be getting some answers soon, and you will start feeling better!

He wants the Rheumy to order what he needs for Blood, they have all my records, skin showing Lupus bands, now emg & ncv showing neuropathy & myopathy. What they have been doing is Neuro says connective tissuecausing damage, & Rheumy says Neuro, muscle disease, so back & forth I go. The muscle biopsy is going to point the finger at one of these guys, at least I will know if I need just Neuro, or both.
Thank you
Mary
