I have an appointment scheduled for Aug. 4 with Dr. Tom Whittaker. Evidently he is THE guy to see (according to my doc) for MG around here. He is at KU and is a neuro. He specializes in MG from what I understand.

I did get copies of my lab report yesterday and am not really sure what it means and neither is the Dr. who ordered the tests. I'm hoping maybe someone on here can help me out by interpreting this.

The first one which is the ACHR Binding AB and Acetychol Recpt AB Modul came out 25. The lab then suggested a follow-up evaluation in 6 months if MG is suspected.

They also recommended ordering the Neuroimmunology Antibody Followup Serum and indicate ACHR Modulating Antibody tests. So the doctor ordered the above. Here are the results for that: ACH Receptor (muscle) Modulating AB at 7%.

Any help with this is appreciated. I know that Dr. Whittaker will discuss this with me when I go in August but would really like a little bit more knowledge before then. Waiting sucks.

Thanks,
Shannon

Smile Hi scarpettafan!

First off, let me say "Congrats!" for getting in to see a great neuro! They can and DO make all the difference in the world!

As for your test results, I have no idea what they mean, but hopfully someone like Neutro, Annie, Brennan or Becky will be able to decipher them! They are sooooooo smart!

After you get dx'ed it will get soooo much better! I am so happy for you! Remember that neuro's aren't known for their warm and cuddly personalites, but they do and will warm up to you!

Hope this post finds you strong and happy!

Erin
