I have reached out to many of my friends on their thoughts and advice- I have even reached out to some teachers. Although it has been helpful I still don't want to do the right thing. I am starting to think I will need help with telling them. Should I ask them to get involved because I know if the don't I won't tell. What to do?

I would say, "definitely get the school nurse or a teacher you feel comfortable with to help you talk to your parents" except this is the weekend, and I hate to see you wait any longer at all. What if you just told them you had soemthing hard to talk to them about? Or do you have an aunt or grandma that you could call right now? and have them come over?
Please don't wait any longer-your parents need to know right now so they can get you the right help! ![]() ![]() ![]()

A long while ago I had a concussion where it took weeks for me to remember long-time co-workers and friends' names, let alone that big fat 'disconnect' you get a times!
The mind is a terrible thing to LOSE! Go talk to your folks and get professional analysis of what all is going on with you! You are very articulate about what all is 'not right' with you and I'll bet your folks would back you up to get it all checked out. Sometimes it can be easy to ask for help? Other times it can seem hard until you ASK. It's doing what you have to - to better survive! It's affecting every part of your life [and, lots of us here have similar and different issues that AFFECT our lives] - IT IS STRESSFUL! But, if you get looked at properly a LOT of that stress can be laid to rest. Don't let this all win - get to work and know that many here have also had to find the heart and courage we know you have to get better. My heart is with you and keep us up to date on all that happens. ![]() |

Well...they found out. My parents finally found out. Thanks for all the people that have been supporting me and helping me through this, it really helped. Like some suggested I used the site to help explain what's going on and they were pretty surprised to the extent of it. I told them everything and I go to the doctor on monday. I will post what I find out at the doctor. Thanks everyone for the advice and support it made it that much easier.

And get whole again - SOON!
And, how could parents not find out? You know they've got eyes in the back of their heads. I'll bet that they were worried stupid about all sorts of possiblities themselves, just didn't let on because you'd be/get 'worried'. Can I say DUH? here??? A b'ball game is just that, a 'game' [tho at times it mite seem like more]. You have a potential life altering issue - tho it may just be one that will take time to heal. That is what I sure am hoping for! IF you get to see a neurologist? Here is what to expect...Until I got my neuro issues I knew they existed? But didn't have a clue what they'd do! http://www.neuroexam.com/content.php?p=2 Having an idea about what all goes on during and exam, which is usually different from what a General doc would look for, helps a lot! It'd be likely useful to include a 'list' such as you articulated [quite well, may I say] about all the problems you've been having... I keep mine on a stenographers' pad that I can fit in my purse and tote around easily [finding a pen is a different matter?] And that way you can check off problems, and give the doc 'clues' as to what's been happening to you. This all is important because what you HEAR isn't always what gets registered in your brain when an appt is over. A LOT goes on? Info is exchanged and you come out of it w/a brain full of mush -simply glad it's 'over with'. IF he says anything about what it mite be? Ask him to spell it out! That way you can look it up and/or ask us! We'll point you in the rite directions. Don't forget? Your folks are likely scared too! So give them special hugs to let them know, well, you know. UNtil the appt? Keep yourself together as best you can. Things can and will get better! - j ![]() ![]() ![]() |

YOu have to tell them, its necessary to take care of yourself. If you don't its possible to do permanent damage to yourself. I realize just how hard this is. But you need to make sure that they understand this to the extent it is going on. You need to get help now. Donna ![]() |
