Hi guys,
I just got diagnosed with RSD/CRPS on Friday by my neurologist/anesthesiologist dr. Had foot surgery June 2008 for neuroma. The thing grew back(stump neuroma) and another one next to it. Nice. Anyhow, pain never went away after surgery....got worse. Podiatrist was injecting me with alcohol sclerosing stuff in June of this year and I had an allergic reaction which turned into huge infection on site of needle injection. From there, it has been downhill. Had to quit job due to severity of pain. Went to two pain specialists and settled with this last guy. I have tried two meds...neurontin and lyrica. Both made me amazingly weird. Now, he gave me balcofen on top of reg. pain meds. So, here I am. I am feeling all kinds of feelings....mad, scared, hopeful that P.T. and lumbar symp. block will work. But basically, I am scared today. I usually am funny..........not lately, however. Thanks for listening.

Welcome Ouchymama!

I'm so sorry about the RSD diagnosis and all the pain you've been living with.

There's a forum for RSD that you might be interested in at the following link:

http://neurotalk.psychcentral.com/forum21.html

There are lots of nice folks there and the other forums as well. I hope you'll make some new friends and get some helpful information too. Take care.

Welcome to NT

So sorry you're having problems with neuroma. It's always a hard thing to accept when you do go through surgery and didn't get the desired result. Double whammy.

Took Neurontin and it did have harsh side effects, but helped my symptoms tremendously. There's always a trade.

Hope you find some pain relief soon.

WELCOME TO NT!

You've certainly had a lot of traumtic things happen to you in a short time. It's absolutely no surprise that your emotions are in a jumble. Still, a sense of humour can be a powerful tool against adversity. As your situation stabalizes (and you're doing all the right things to make that happen), your funny side will reassert itself and help you along. For now, try to be kind to yourself. Frankly, I wouldn't be coping half as well as you are.

Hi Broken Wings,
Thanks for the welcome. I hope to find some good help here. I had trouble with neurontin, lyrica and now just got off of baclofen. I am sick of trying pills for nerve pain. Do you have a foot neuroma?
Anyhow, thanks a lot.
