Frown New! would like to find out about (SCS) when u have CRPS, THANKS SO MUCH.

Injured at work 3-25-09, Crush injury to right great toe, fracture to end halux tibial, crushing the inner neourological nerve, have had ten months of pain meds. X-RAYS, MRI, CT SCAN, which resulted to show intrusion, leaking fluid, building holding pockets, visible from the exterior of the foot, nothing was ever addressed or applied or explained, must of got blown away in the wind, because now I have more bumps than before, including the pain now runs from the end of my rt ft., to the heel, burning to the knee, to my lower back. PMD, after 1st visit on 2-4-10, recommends aquatic therapy, and SCS. However, my concerns after researching final results, all injured and diagnosed with RDS/CRPS show to be inconclusive, NOT ONE PERSON HAS BEEN PROVEN TO SHOW "COMPLETE RECOVERY"! Additionally, all it proves is that it reduces the pain from the original injury feeling progress, although, soon after pain and defaults form at other locations in the body, WHO BECOMES RESPONSIBLE FOR THESE NEW/ WHATEVER, PROBLEMS AND BILLS, since W/C claims non-reliability due to location of "new" injury?. THANKS FOR YOUR REPLIES!

Welcome to NT

It's not easy dealing with an injury, then you add WC and medical needs, it can be a jungle out there.

Do you have an attorney? Are your doctors relating it to the initial WC injury? Are you taking pictures or keeping a diary of what's going on with you, who you talk to, what they say?

It gets to be so frustrating you want to throw your hands up, or make them throw their hands up

You doctors have to related that to the WC injury or you won't have a chance getting them to pay for it.

I hope you get better soon and have little damage to live with.

Keep in touch...

Yes I finally found a understanding and carring attorney after 9 months of aweful Dr's, chiro's, 1 attorney's office that harrased me and told me they don't work for me, yell at me stressed me out, 1 attrny that I would always get the run around from and they would not confirm who my attny was. W/C you do NOT GET FAIR TREATMENT NOR IS IT A NO FAULT SYSTEM.

Hi Azaila
I am very sorry you are having to deal with all of this!
You will find many caring and supportive people here at NT.
There are a lot of wonderful people on the RSD forum who will be glad to give you support and information to help you as you wade through the decisions you are facing.

By SCS, I'm assuming you are talking about the Spinal Cord Stimulator, yes? We are actually trying to get approval to get a specific forum opened for this issue. There have been many people asking about these units, as well as pain pumps.
For some reason, especially lately, doctors seem to be practically 'forcing' patients to get these and it raises many concerns! It is a rather invasive procedure after all !

I encourage you to check out the RSD section and introduce yourself there. In no time you will see many who can embrace what you are dealing with.
I am scheduled to get an SCS this month as a matter of fact.
There is much thought that must be put into this.

Hope to talk soon! Feel free to send me a PM if you want. I will be glad to share what I know.

Truly Caring,
Rae

Not sure what SCS is, but here in Kentucky, if it's invasive, they can't force you. They do use it as an "ugly stick" to beat you up with it sometimes but your attorney should be able to come back with evidence that says it don't always work and things like that.

The bottom line is, you're not able to work due to a work-related injury. Believe in that you will some day, in small ways, get compensated something for it.

and no, it don't seem fair on this end of the stick, from where the injured person is. Maybe someday but for now, it's tough to go through and not enough in the end.

Laugh Good News !

Azaila !
The administrators OK'd a forum for SCS ! !
This is so exciting !
You can access it either by going to the RSD Forum - at the very top is the SCS labeled under a 'stickie'
OR on the Forum's main menu, it is listed under the "Medications" Forum !

It is brand new, so there aren't many posts there yet. So, head on over there and let's get it goin!!
