Frown The wonderful Government...

I have appreciated all the messages written to me. I am thankful that others know what I feel like day after day. Almost 2 years ago I started the procedures to apply for Soc. Security benefits. Ya right. I have worked since I was 16- now I will be turning 58. I have been turned down twice and have a lawyer involved now in prep for a hearing. Due to my major health issues I am unable to be in the workforce any longer- either my heart was giving me problems or the fibromylagia was hitting me with fatigue and pain. Now with the neuropathy I have fewer and fewer days that I feel I can get up. But of course I AM ABLE TO BE PRODUCTIVE IN THE WORKPLACE! Anyone's suggestions on how to keep my spirits up while wating for the hearing I am more than willing to have your input.

Hi Potato:

I love your name.

My name is Melody. You've been shown one of the great forums here on Neurotalk. All of us who now receive checks are wondering if they are going to stop on August 3rd. Scary, I know.

so here's to keeping toes and fingers crossed.

I hope you are having a better than average day and I just wanted to say hi and welcome to Neurotalk.

Take care

Melody

Default hello potatoe

I can't help but say hello. I do know what you are going through. There is also a forum just for SS and Gov agiencies. There are people waiting just like you are and are as frustrated. It is a horrible experience for most of us. I was turned down twice, and received my benefits after a trip to the judges chambers. This was not a bad experience as you finally can say what it is that dissables you. Waiting is the hard part, and so many go broke just waiting for their benefits. This happened to me. The agiencies are tring hard not to have you on the benefit rolls, so the fact you have a lawyer is great. I wish you all the best, and that you have less pain today, than the day the day before. I hope you get your benefits soon. It is awful not to work, and I get depressed also. I work on mosaics in the garage to keep my sanity. A hobbie or some kind of "Fun" work is good for the soul. take care, ginnie

Thumbs up Hey, potato.

I'm so sorry you're having to suffer thru all this while waiting for the gov't stuff to fall in place. I think having a lawyer gives you an edge. By all means, head over to that SS Disabilities Forum & listen to the voices of experience that hang out there.
