Hi I am here looking for some answers to my granddaughters problem with gastric paralysis. this is a problem we have been dealing with for almost 6 years now and only recently have gotten this diagnosis. does anyone have any answers as to getting help for someone with this problem. She is 21 yrs old and we keep running into brick walls She can't work because the bad weeks keep her practically bed ridden.. she is now on a feeding tube inserted into her bowel to bypass the stomach which is where the paralysis is the doctor wants to put a pacemaker on her stomach but won't do the surgury until he knows he will get his money any ideas

Sorry to hear about your granddaughters problem. She is so young to have to go thru this ordeal. I have gastroparesis where the stomach does not empty properly. A lot of foods linger in my stomach and causes bloating and impaction. I have been in hospital 3x with the impaction. I know diabetics get this disorder but I do not have diabetes I have autonomic nervous disorder due to spinal cord injury which causes the vagus nerve not to empty my stomach.

I don't know if your grandaughter has this but I know in severe cases they put a pjeg tube in to bypass the stomach. I am on a very strict diet and I am almost starving myself.
