This is screaming celiac disease to me, please check it out!
Also, fasting blood sugars are NOT the gold standard in diabetes testing,
they can remain normal long after the post prandial are not.
good luck!
Hello Pabb, It might be a good idea to test for celiac, but since I already have been avoiding gluten, it might affect the test results...? I know that everytime I ate whole wheat I would get the feeling of walking on painful, hard marbles. I think lymph nodes in my bottoms of my feet and wrists would swell up. Also very itchy!
My Mom has a very bad reaction to wheat, with the same symptoms, but she actually was tested for celiac and it came back negative.
Also, my mom has tested me after a meal many times with her glucose meter and it always comes out normal. I avoid all sugars including naturally occurring and artificial sweeteners. I limit my oats to 1/4 cup a day in my plain fat free yogurt. I don't like fruit juice and only eat whole fruits. I live on vegetables beans and legumes and fish much of the time and walk 4-6 miles a day, (To keep my beloved dog healthy!). I pray I never develop diabetes as I know first hand from watching my mom live with it all my life, that it is a tyrant of a disease and as well as she cares for herself and as wonderful as her Doctors' care, it has taken its toll and consumed her life.
My Dad has gone through 3 Halo ablations on his esophagus this year. He also has suffered from psoriatic arthritis for many crippling years. My brother suffers from Pulminary Sarcoidosis which has spread to his salivary glands and liver. Even if my mom has not got celiac, I think all of us suffer from food or chemical sensitivities and allergies that inflame the system and need to be investigated.
