Unhappy Im New Here and I need help!

I have no money for physical therapy of any sort. Ive gone to a neurologist and got told I have some nerve damage through some test they did with electrical nodes... well the nerve damage doesnt allow some muscles to move some motor functions on my feet and fingers, crazy cause I can feel them fully if I touch them. I cant move my pinkie or even tippy toe therefore I cant run. MRI came out clean. Ive been hearing about electronic therapy to stimulate the nerves and muscles and im wondering if that works... any suggestions, I would love to run again and be athletic like I used to be

Default Welcome to Neurotalk--

--but, if you have some sort of neve damage, before you try to go out and re-establish an athletic lifestyle, it may be important to try to find out WHY you have this nerve damage. If it severe enough to show up on Electromyography/Nerve conduction Studies, and you are experiencing difficulties due to it, much more investigation is in order.

Could this possibly be a result of previous injury? Has any blood work been done for systemic causes of neuropathy? Any imaging, especially of the spine, been done?

And, feel free to come post on our neuropathy forum:

Welcome to NT

So sorry you're having problems with your health and your finances. No money certainly makes it hard to get help.

I dont know your age or education, but we have the Department of Vocational Rehabilitation here in Kentucky that helps a person if they're trying to get back out in the workfield. Helps with education, training, medical needs, PT, counseling, equipment, etc.

I hope you find answers and get appropriate help soon.

I'm sure there's tons of info here that you can relate to and maybe get a better direction to start at.

There's also lots of frugal tips to help you along.

You're not alone here.

How did it start?
Accident, injury, or just out of the blue?
How long ago?
Any changes in life/activities before these symptoms started?
