Hi I'm Lynne and have been suffering from shoulder/arm/hand pain with loss of grip bilaterally for a number of months. i have had various tests done...x rays..blood tests...mri etc and still have no diagnosis. Things I know for certain are, I have left shoulder bursitis( have had for approx 3 years), my first rib is elevated and my thoracic spine is stiff. My problems get worse after lying down or sitting comfortably in a soft chair. My pain is controlled by taking slow release tramadol and amitryptiline. I also get cold clammy hands and sweat excessively when working ( i'm a cleaner) If I don't take the pain killers I cannot function, it feels like there is something hot and prickly running through my arms and hands. I suspect I might have thoracic outlet syndrome and have said this to my physiotherapist who did some manouvre type tests which weren't conclusive, all she said from that was that my first rib is elevated on the left side. I am currently waiting to see another physiotherapist and have just had results back from mri of the cervical and thoracic spine which were clear. I'm getting to the end of my tether and am sick of being passed around and never getting a diagnosis. Can anyone offer any advice on symptoms especially the cold clammy hands. thanks in advance for any advice ?)

Hey Lynne, First welcome to the forum. In 1976 I seperated my shoulder in basic training and completed training without treatment nor time to heal. Over the years it kept giving me trouble which included pain from shoulder to finger tips and the drops.
In 2008 had shoulder surgery to remove a bone spur and repair the cuff due to the spur got into the cuff and was cutting it every time I moved my arm. To this day I still have pain and the drops, but could be due to PN dx 2002 and present since 1976. Don't give up your quest and someone who that might be able to relate to you their experience that will ring a bell with you, If nothing else we are great listeners, & good caring supporters. Good luck and God Bless!
