Heart new and scared

Hello, I am hoping to find friends to talk to about my neck and back problems. I don't really have anyone to talk to, even my medical provider just says keep taking your pain meds.
I just had 3 MRI's all 3 parts of my spine. Results from the first 2 showed several multi layered budging discs and mild stenious. I won't know about the lumbar one until Thursday when I see my provider for her to give me the results.
What I want to know is if anyone knows what I am looking at. Is there treatment for this? My neck starts hurting and then I get a strange sickening headache. My right arm is getting very weak. I work at a dollar store and in the past couple of months I have had to run the register all the time. I have noticed lots of changes in my neck and arms. Could I be doing more damage?
I hope someone will help me, I need some emotional support too, thanks.

Wink Hi, 13daisies. Welcome to NeuroTalk!

I'm so glad you found this place. The peer-to-peer support & various posting opportunities, as well as the objective source material, has increased my own sense of involvement in my treatment in the several weeks I've been here; I hope you find the same thing. The chat rooms will give you another place to hang out.

Use Lara's link to the Spinal Disorders & Back Pain. Feel free to repost your intro as a new thread there. Hang out, aak questions, get to know the people. Some of them might have been where you are now, & orders further down the road. So make yourself at home!

welcome

it's a great place to find support & understanding.

I do have neck, back, arms, etc problems. they're no fun.

working at the dollar general is hard work. it's a great store to shop at. It's good they're letting you run the register. You and I know that won't last long, though.

Arm weakness? is it heavy, numb, painful, just weak?

I've really tried lots of things for my problems, where I had to deal with so many things. I too suffered with headaches from neck and TOS issues.

In 2006, I did cervical epidurals X3 that started my recovery. Ambulance rear-ended me at a red light in 10-2000. Long time ago. I still have problems but nothing like I had.

The next big helper I found for my problems were LED and infrared light therapy pads. here's a link for that. http://www.healthlightz.com/
Starting using them in 2008 on a loan. got my own (3) in Dec 2009. Been using them ever since. I do want to start a business with them, so other people can get this technology, but I just don't have the time right now. I can sell them, just don't have the time to devote to it. Got a good job that takes a lot of my time, and then family gets the rest. You know how it is.

They do make cheaper versions. I just know these worked miracles for me. I'm able to work in a garden, can and preserve foods, gather in baskets. I couldn't do that without the lights.

Some physical therapy departments have them now, chiropractors and massage therapists, or holastic providers have them. THey may be available in your area and you're just not aware of it. Definitely look for them.

Also Kinesio Tape helped me with ADLs and work for many years.
Here's a link for that to get you started. http://www.google.com/search?pq=skin...og&sa=N&tab=wi

You do have to get a good doctor/health care provider to guide you. You have to do what you have to do right now.

Once you get a good diagnosis, you can start figuring out what you need to do.

It won't always be this way. My pain pattern changed as I improved. Hope you find some peace.

Oh, and water is a good thing too. Flushes toxins after therapy or massage. Replinishes the body.
