My name is J.M. Turner. I am 53 years young and live in Central Georgia. I have had a great life thus far though I have faced and still face some obstacles as everyone does. I will give you a short list of mental and physical ailments. I have suffered from a panic disorder and depression for about 16 years. For the most part it has been manageable through my faith, my family, friends, a good doctor, some counciling and medication. It still rears it's ugly head at times but for the most part I have managed to deal with it. I am married and have four children. Corey my oldest passed away 6 year ago on December 2nd 2005. He had two children. Nate is 7 and Sydneigh is 6. That was and is a very difficult thing to deal with but God has been gracious and for the most part I deal with it pretty well. Over the last couple of years my physical health has deteriorated some what. Two years ago this October I was diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes. My mom and dad were both diabetics so it really wasn't a surprise to me. It was surprising however when I went into the Dr. and found out that my sugar was 590. My cholesterol was 1000 and my triglicerides were 1200. My vision was pretty much destroyed. However for the last 18 months my sugar, cholesterol and trigliceries have been normal. I lost 35 lbs. I am no longer on any diabetes meds. However two months ago I started having severe cramps in my feet, burning in my feet, nerve twitching or impulses and pain in both legs below both of the knees. My dr. has diagnosed it as neuropathy and I am on 600 mg of neurotin a day. It helps somewhat. Now I have developed another problem...not sure if its related to neuropathy or not. About a month ago I started having burning, tingling, thobbing in my left shoulder about mid way down. Sometime it hurts around under my left arm. When I lean back on my back the shoulder feels as though it is sun burned....hurts to wear something on it. This week I have had c spine xrays, and a mri. I have not heard from my dr. as of yet in spite of the fact that I have caused several times. I have the test results but have no idea what they all mean. Can someone help me with the results if i post them...and is there a particular forum where I should post. I am new to the forum as of a few minutes ago. I look forward to meeting all of you and lending my help whereever i can. Thanks, and blessings JMT

Hi, and welcome to NT
THere was a radiologist willing to help on these things. I have been busy lately and don't remember him but maybe someone can direct your resutls to him. Sometimes the "IMPRESSION" part of the report is the part that tells you the most. It can get a little complicated. Try posting us the "IMPRESSION" part for starters and see what you get. There's lots of people around the forum with knowledge and experience. Check back with you later...

Hello and welcome to NeuroTalk. Happy to see you have come to be with us. Just let us know if we can be of any help. There are great number and caring fellow members here to assist you. Looks like you have been traveling around in NT. I know it must hurt you and your family losing a little one. We lost a grandchild, she was only 9 weeks old, we lost her to SIDs. Check into the founding forum, there probably some to answer your question there. http://neurotalk.psychcentral.com/sh...light=tingling Our shoulders are here for support in many ways. Again welcome, looking forward to seeing you around. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Darlene ![]()

Karen, good catch that the OP is potentially exhibiting RSD symptoms. This doesn't mean that there has been a misdiagnosis, though. It is possible the OP has Diabetic Neuropathy and RSD.
