Default Hello

Hi ,

I was diagnosed with AIH 3 months ago. It is in the early stages and I am only on 400 IU Vitamin E right now.

I have been reading about it and it all sounds very scary to me. When my gastro told me i went numb and really didn't hear what he was saying.

He is checking my liver enzymes every 3 months and he says if they get much higher he will do a liver biopsy.

Scared, Samyjo

Smile Hello Samyjo!

Welcome to NT!
I'm sorry for the reason which brings you here, however.
But take comfort in knowing that we all care and understand your fears.

I hope that you have a good medical team and that you'll begin to get answers soon.
Make yourself at home here, you've got FRIENDS!

Caring
Rae

It does seem that you're being treated very conservatively, but apparently they feel that's how early the stage is when they've caught yours. In any disease, early diagnosis is always a huge thing in your favor.

When I was 15 I had hepatitis B & was terrified. I can sympathize, because auto-immune hepatitis is potentially so much worse.

Do you think you have a good doctor? Do you have friends or/& family with you to support you, or are you alone in this? I'm glad you found us, because now at least--scared as you are--at least you don't have to be scared alone.

Samyjo, we can be part of a support system for you. NT is full of good, generous people. Stay in touch, & let us know how you are.
