This is my first visit to the forum. I've had moderate pain in my neck, shoulder and upper arms for several months, progressively worse. Tried all the alternative treatments - massage, acupuncture, therapy,, you name it - and it kept recurring. My neuro surgeon recommended ACDFon the back. Injections were an alternative, but he said not as effective. Are there other treatment alternatives? Is second opinion recommended before proceeding with surgery?
I live in NC and we are blessed with a wonderful medical community, but I thought maybe Mayo Clinic or some other institution might be an option.

welcome to NT.
i don't know enuf about your condition but i always think it's a good idea to get a 2nd opinion before any surgery.

go to someone unrelated to the 1st group and go with copies of any test, records and mri's etc.

could you give us more information about what you're dealing with?
