Default occipital neuralgia

Hello. I am new. I have a question. Has anyone have the occipital neuralgia sugery? I have occipital neuralgia and am on medication. they don't seem to be working, I have had the botox done.It don't help me. I am looking into cutting the nerve. has any one have that done and what is the side effects?
please help
