Red face Hi, new to neurotalk

I'm 'buntbean'. I developed severe, sudden pain in my eyes March 2005 (like welding sparks, or bacon grease getting in my eyes). I was told it was psychosomatic. 2 years ago I went to the Boston Foundation for Sight and was diagnosed with corneal neuralgia/trigeminal neuralgia. I've been on gabapentin, cymbalta, lorazepam, and tramadol for 6 years now. Just as suddenly as the pain started I also developed very severe dry eyes. The doctors feel this has something to do with the nerves as well. ANA has been up and down but biopsy for sjogrens was negative. Thyroid fine.

I know there are others out there that suffer with intense eye pain. Mine is more a constant pain with times (sometimes days) of more severe pain. Life is hard. I was suicidal when this started but I just keep going one day at a time.
