On Thursday, Nov.3rd, following 21 months of testing and interdisciplinary involvement with GP, neurologist, rheumatoid arthritis specialist, multiple testing regimen including CT Scan, MRI, blood and urine testing,chemical interventions including Plaquenil, Gabapentin, Allopurinol,cholchicine, Prednisone and finally a diagnostic specialist, I received a confirming diagnosis of Sensory
Polyneuropathy of Unknown Origin.
Most likely cause - a confluence of genetic disposition together with a double Vaccination for H1NI administered in error in the fall of 2009. This vaccine was
Adjuvented with a substance named "squalene"used as an extender.
My work is with Mentally Challenged Adults, and as a requirement, I along with a number of our residents sought and received the H1N1 Vaccine in the fall of 2009. The regular Flu Shot was not available at the time and was given the residents at a later date. I was not on duty at time and so attended a Flu Shot clinic with my wife two weeks later. it was during this visit that the Med Error occurred and I was given a second H1N1 shot instead of the regular flu shot.
Neuropathic symptoms began to be evident in January of 2010 and have persisted in both hands and feet to this date. And so, I have begun a second round of Prednisone to relieve the symptoms. After 3 days, the results are apparent with a reduction in neuropathic symptomology.
We will continue this round od medication and determine the effects in a month's time. in the meantime, I have decide to share my experience with members of this forum to learn what I can about this condition as it has affected others and to increase the database for those who may benefit from these events.
