I was googling my symptoms tonight, and I stumbled across this forum. About a month ago I started noticing that I was having a little trouble talking. I described it as it felt my tongue was too big for my mouth. It wasn't as if it felt physically too big, but it was as if it just wouldn't always react like it did in the past. I then started having what I have called "the buzz". It feels like I have a buzz. It does fluctuate in intensity, but never above 2/10. Most of the time is is almost undetectable. The biggest problems have been typing and writing. Sometimes I just can't make my fingers do what I want them to do. My brain is saying type a word, but the fingers won't do it or do it very slowly. The writing is more frustrating. Sometimes I can write fine, but other times I write so illegible that I cannot even read it. I don't seem to have memory loss, and cognitively I feel okay. It is just the symptoms described above. Oh, and I have noticed lately that I am having more trouble shaving. My arm moves like someone's arm that has just had a weight removed.
I have had normal bloodwork and an MRI, which both came back clean. A neurologist just checked for blood disorders (HIV, lyme disease, rocky mountain spotted fever, ana, b12, etc), and I haven't gotten the results back yet. I have also had a CTA done for which I don't have the results. Any ideas? |

Welcome to NeuroTalk.
Well for starters, when you get your test results, make sure your B12 results are given to you in numbers. Don't accept "normal". This is because lab ranges are old and go down too far. The new normal cut off in US is 400. Thick tongue and vague problems can also be thyroid related. So make sure that is tested well too.

I would also suggest that you have a EEG done just to be on the safe side.
Some of the symptoms you are saying could be simple seizures. Donna |

Thanks for all the comments and advice. I just received the results of the CTA (my FIL did the CTA, so I get the results at 5:45 AM :-) ), and they were normal other than a mucous retention cyst. Now to get the bloodwork results.
