Hi. I'm new here. My fiancee was diagnosed with an aneurysm as a child.
Don't know the specifics..only he wasn't allowed to play sports. Here recently His headaches are getting worse and alot more frequent. Once a week Now. When I attempt to discuss the issue he gets angry and defensive He won't get a ct scan or mri. I love him more than words can describe. I do not Want to lose him to a condition that can be treated. How can I convince him to get medical assessment and or treatment without a huge fight? Im lost Scared and confused. Ty |

Sorry to hear this. His denial may be a subconscious way of thinking if he doesn’t seek treatment nothing bad will happen. Other than education there may be little that you can do while he feels OK. If his next headache is severe consider calling an ambulance to take him to the hospital then and there. A rupture could lead to stroke, brain damage or worse. I wish you both the best.

What Happened: On November 29, 2010, I was walking across the street and was hit by a light rail commuter train. Result was a severe traumatic brain injury and multiple fractures (skull, pelvis, ribs). Total hospital stay was two months, one in ICU followed by an additional month in neuro-rehab. Upon hospital discharge, neurological testing revealed deficits in short term memory, executive functioning, and spatial recognition. Today: Neuropsychological examination five months post-accident indicated a return to normal cognitive functioning, and I returned to work approximately 6 months after the accident. I am grateful to be alive and am looking forward to enjoying the rest of my life. |
