Default I am new

My name is Virginia and joined because my husband of 22 years was shunted at age 2, has had six subsequent revisions, and is now experiencing significant cognitive skills loss since 1997. We have seen a number of doctors in the last four years and really have not gotten many answers. I am very curious to know if there are others out there like him who have had a vp shunt for 43 years with multiple revisions and if they are experiencing issues with memory and cognition.

Welcome, Virginia,

My heart goes out to you, for being so strong.

This is a great place to find. You will find lots of info and support.

There's also a caregiver forum that has a lot of supportive people there. They really do understand and support each other.

Here is the link: http://neurotalk.psychcentral.com/forum56.html

There is lots of info here to research.

Just keep asking questions. Copy and paste works well when you're contacting different forums.

Also the "Search" buttom above is a good tool to use.

Take care...
