I am desparate to find help for my husband. He is a dialysis patient of three and a half years duration and until a year ago, got along pretty well on dialysis. Last March he was admitted into the hospital and while there aquired MRSA. He received two different med's. The second one was Cubicin. Almost as soon as Cubicin was administered he began to have problems with his feet. After five different Doctor's, we finally got the diagnosis...peripheral neuropathy. Three different medications later still no relief. The poor dear can barely walk, and has great pain doing so. He say's it is like walking on a bed of needles. He just wants a little relief. Anybody have suggestions? Do you think the MRSA or the Med's did that? Who will tell us? Certainly not the Doctor's. They almost back away from us when we mention Cubicin. I do not know what the first medication was that was given in the hospital. The Doctor just said he had to change it on his dismissal from the hospital and I had to pay for Cubicin out of pocket...almost $2,000.00! That would be okay if it did not harm him, and I do not know for certain that the drug did harm him, but something caused this. No one is willing to give us any answers.
