I had back surgery in September 2010, wake up with foot drop. My surgeon left a piece of disc that causes me continous pain. Foot tendon transfer in March of 2011. Another back surgery on April 23rd, 2012 to redo diskectomy. Another back surgery on April 28th to repair a hematoma and 1 inch cut on my dura. Another back surgery on Sept. 14, 2012 to repair a CFS leak. My surgeon said it was caused by a needle puncture in the last back surgery. Question: would it be possible that I may still have a leakage? I am having headaches everyday.

From the sounds of things, you didin't have a great surgeon, so it's possible. I think I'd UNFORTUNATELY have to go back to the surgeon and see what's going on. See the problem is,, any other surgeon wouldn't touch you cause they don't like working on another surgeons stuff So you're gonna have to go back to the same guy -- darn it. Your surgeon isn't a very good one from the sounds of things. I'd be afraid of him, and I might be talking to a lawyer if you have permanent damage because of it.
Let us know what happens, will you? I wish you the very best of luck!! I'm sure your headache is awful! God bless. Hugs, Lee ![]()

Hi, I don't like the sound of your neurosurgeon either. However, there is nothing wrong with getting another opinion, and getting your records. I do hope you can find a solution. I turned down a tendon transfer, it scared me worse than the spinal fusion. I did not return to my first neuro surgeon, I did go ahead and find another as my first fusion failed. I just couldn't see going back to the same one that I felt did not do the right thing. ginnie
