Hi gang. I am 47 and a father of six, ages 5-20 and married. Started getting concussions in teen years playing football. Depression also started then. Also played minor league football in my early forties. Suffered a severe concussion then, was out for several minutes. Things really started to spiral down then. That was in 2006. Have since lost a few jobs, depression has gotten severe. Memory loss is bad, concentration sucks, sleeping difficulty, swallowing difficulty. Marriage is hurting. My wife says I am a completely different person. She is hurting. I don't like to talk. Prefer to isolate. It is bad. Probably have had a dozen concussions over the years.

Welcome to NT,

Yes, it is bad. So sorry you're having these difficulties with memory and loss of so many pieces of yourself. You're not alone here. It helps to know there are others here that are willing to show you around, give you support, etc.

Here is the TBI (traumatic brain injury) forum:

http://neurotalk.psychcentral.com/forum92.html

Here is the depression forum:

http://neurotalk.psychcentral.com/forum37.html

Take your time and look around the forums. You'll find you can help others here, too.

I hope you find some peace in your day.

It sure is beautiful here in the hills of My Ole Kentuck... should take a pic and attach... hummm.

Stay more in the positive mode.

Look for the beauty.

It is all around us...
