I have been having some slight numbness in my face, and upper arms.
I can still feel everything. It's just a slight decrease in sensitive, but I do notice the difference. About a year ago, I had high amount of numbness throughout my body for a week, and then I lost my sense of taste of taste for 2 months. After I had regained my taste and the numbness went away, I had an MRI (It took about 4 months after I felt back to get an appointment). There was nothing thankfully. The doctors told me it was probably stress. It's been a week or so like this. But, this slight off feeling in my skin is odd now. I'm worried about going back to the doctor, and spending all that money to find out it's just stress. It's also kinda of embarrassing to be though to as crazy. Any idea what it could be? Thank you |

I agree with Keepingfaith, dig deeper.
It really irks me when we go to the doctor because something isn't right and they tend to downplay it and say it's only stress. I don't see how 'stress' can make your body go numb and lose your taste, etc. Don't worry about being looked at as 'crazy', and don't be embarrassed to go back and demand better than that. You aren't crazy. You want ANSWERS. I hope you get some straight answers soon by a doctor who will take the time to hear you out and check into this. Rae ![]() |

Hi,
So sorry to hear you're having numbness like that. I agree it could be stress and it could be more No ins is a bummer. That will cause a lot of stress in itself. MRIs are not 100%. They are slices. What did they MRI? A CAT scan with dye may be more definitive. Could be circulation related. Losing taste is not common for stress related issue, nor mental problems. Hubby hassle a stroke, concussion and broke his C1. He has lost his taste. It is slowly returning, but we know he had a stroke. Not knowing can be the most frustrating part. I pray you find answers and get the help you need. Vitamin deficiency can cause lots of problems... We are not doctors and this sounds like you definitely need a good doctor. In our area, we have free clinics that do take people's complaints serious and can get some tests done and out of the way. Look around our other forums for information but do find a good doctor or healthcare provider soon.
