Hello Everyone,
I arrived here last Saturday after a trip down to casualty, where I heard the term 'PCS' for the first time. The day before my regular GP said there was nothing he could find and that whatever ails me should be going soon. Hmmm. The Dr at casualty on the other hand, was accurate if not a little pessimistic. When he told me what it was I asked how long these symptoms last- he told me sometimes for a while, as in the 'rest of your life' while. Hopefully this is not the case- can anyone enlighten me here?!? ![]() |

Matsta,
Welcome. Join us on the traumatic brain injury section. You will be much enlightened about PCS. Trust me you need the help in order to figure out what kind of treatment to have and what kind of doctors to go to. There are a lot of good people on there and a lot of support. What happened to you? How many concussions have you had? I loved your caption - "greetings from oz" yeah that is what it feels like. Glad you have a sense of humor. Me and you will get along well. Brain

Thanks to you both, Brains and Darlene.
I'm actually feeling a bit selfish at the moment after reading some of the various posts. My biggest concern is losing a reasonably high-performance job because of this. My standard of living is nowhere near as altered as many of the good people on here. Sure I don't like the persistent headache, light head and bouts of nausea/weakness but I can live with that. In fact all things considered my life is still having a good run (unless the axe falls on my job!!). Every day here is a plus, is it not? |
