You are NOT alone, even though it often feels this way. I think many of us, myself included, have had doctors that acted like we were faking it. Medical schools need to be less concerned about drug seeking potential and more concerned about the damage they do emotionally and psychologically when they treat us like this. It's devastating. Keep at it.

I do believe that meds are ruining my life my stomach hurts so much, I cannot swallow or eat well so it makes the problem worse... meds with no food in the stomach are evil.. no relief yet

Hi MH,
I am so sorry to hear that you are still suffering.
MRSD recommended soaking baths with Epsom salts. I do this twice a day now in order to avoid taking pain meds. I do take 75 mg once daily of Lyrica still but nothing helps me like the baths. I really didn't expect as much relief as I found.
I still have some awfully painful days and nights. I am concentrating on diet, sleep, exercise as never before.
Juicing with organic vegetables and taking fish oil and B12, D, Citracal all to build up the nerves mylan sheath. This was advised to me by the neurologist who diagnosed the PN. He believes diet is key to healing the body. So I think you are on the right track taking care of your stomach. Hopefully you can eat well soon.
Take care ,
TM

Default Receiving no Relief from Pain

My heart goes out to you, MH, I sense that you have spent a large part of your life helping others, and now you don't know how to get the help you need, and maybe don't even know what help you do need. I hope you will try every other physical therapy before choosing surgeries, I have not had one myself, but have known others, and so many false promises are made....

When i had the whiplash, i received Acupuncture for it, and that was so much better for me than pain meds, which had terrible side effects,,, on my "constitution" and my memory. Now I am facing a degenerative spinal disease and the future is going to demand that i learn pain management techniques and how to force myself to remain active, which it sounds like you have done. Well Done! Congratulations for all the work you have put in to finding ways to retain your quality of life!

Hope to hear more of your ongoing progress. Best Wishes
Gus
